• Responsible Sourcing: We partner with trusted manufacturers who uphold the highest environmental standards, ensuring that our materials are responsibly sourced and align with our sustainability values.
• Product Innovation: GF develops products with sustainability at the forefront, considering everything from the materials we use to how they are managed at end-of-life. Through intentional and proactive formulation practices, we are proudly committed to continuously working towards ensuring our products are free from harmful phthalates and in compliance with California Prop 65, REACH, and RoHS regulations.
• Reducing Environmental Impact: GF continues to lead the industry with its initiatives that have eliminated all lead containing pigments and heavy metals from its product formulations. Through the use regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs), GF recovers thermal energy during incineration and removes up to 99% of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from stack emissions, maintaining the strictest compliance to environmental regulations.
• Waste Management: In 2024 alone, we diverted over 2.6 million pounds of scrap materials from landfills. We continue to reduce our carbon footprint through waste minimization, recycling initiatives, and the reuse of packaging materials. Additionally, we’ve introduced recycled end caps made from scrap vinyl and recycle 55-gallon drums, wooden pallets, cardboard, and paper.

An estimated 30% of global chlorine production is used in the manufacturing of PVC, underscoring its importance to the chlor-alkali industry. In PVC, chlorine is chemically bound in a solid polymer matrix, stabilizing it in a safe, non-reactive state during its useful life. Without PVC, the chlor-alkali industry would face challenges in managing the surplus chlorine produced, as PVC provides a key pathway to transform this otherwise hazardous substance into a safe and useful product. While chlorine is a toxic gas in its pure form, it is effectively “locked up” in PVC, mitigating its potential hazards. The role of PVC in capturing and stabilizing chlorine highlights its utility and should be balanced against broader considerations, including sustainable production, use, and end-of-life management.
